At IAGI, research is more than an academic pursuit. It is the foundation that enriches education, sharpens critical thinking, and sparks innovation. We believe that a strong research culture not only enhances teaching but also prepares students to meet real-world challenges, informs policy, and keeps learning relevant to society’s evolving needs. 

Faculty members and students are actively encouraged to engage in research across emerging areas, supported by both institutional funding and national agencies such as the University Grants Commission (UGC), Department of Science and Technology (DST), Council of Scientific & Industrial Research (CSIR), and Department of Atomic Energy (DAE). The Research Advisory Council, comprising leading academicians and industry experts, provides strategic guidance in framing policies and programs, ensuring that inquiry and innovation remain at the core of IAGI. 
Dedicated committees on ethics, publications, innovation, consultancy, and safety oversee all research activities, helping nurture scientific rigor and responsibility. Strong infrastructure, coupled with UGC recognition under 12(B) and 2(f), further strengthens research productivity and impact across disciplines. 
Collaboration plays a vital role in IAGI’s research journey. Through MoUs and industry partnerships, we foster interdisciplinary approaches and encourage knowledge exchange. Our flagship institute, Indian Academy Degree College – Autonomous, houses a recognised research centre in Life Sciences under Bengaluru North University, with a similar recognition for the Indian Academy School of Management (IASMS) underway. 
To advance inquiry in Life Sciences, IAGI has also established the Indian Academy Central Life Sciences Research (IACLSR), which is currently pioneering R&D in Nano-Biosensors with applications spanning environmental safety, food contamination, agricultural microbiology, and health sciences.  National and international conferences, workshops, and research-promoting initiatives organised by IADC-A extend these opportunities beyond IAGI, creating platforms for knowledge-sharing with institutions across India and abroad.
